The Gender Champion Cell of Wangkhao Government College took the initiative of organizing an institutional visit to the local police station at Mon on 6th June, 2019. This activity is part of institutional visit to various public service institutions which falls under the UGC guidelines. With regard to this, the selected 24 gender champions from the three semesters took part in this activity as they were given the privilege to visit the local police station alongwith the nodal officer and the concerned members of the gender champion cell. The students had an interactive session with the SDPO(sub-divisional police officer) as he elaborated on various issues relating to FIR, women’s rights and how women’s cases are tackled at women’s cell. He also spoke on how women are treated at their workplace wherein he mentioned that there is no such gender bias related issues at police station and everyone is treated equally with utmost respect. The session ended successfully.
